Our industrial kitchens are fixed facilities. We have trained our chefs to maintain a high standard, and our food is grown locally by organic farmers that supply us daily. Nothing canned or packaged. All fresh.

For those lucky few tourists that were able to reach Socotra, they were able to explore the beauty and incredible nature of the island but without any comforts of the modern world. Socotra has been a place where ‘roughing it’ was the norm. Staying in small tents with a blanket and a pillow, and driving across semi-paved roads in cars that were had not been repaired for years.
Until now, a tour of Socotra as accepted for whatever was available without any expectation for more.

Best Times to Visit Socotra
October and early November offer calm seas and settled winds, perfect for hiking, swimming, and enjoying the island despite occasional rain. Mid-January to March are the driest months, with minimal rain, pleasant temperatures, and vibrant flower blooms.
Given Socotra's unpredictable weather, flexible itineraries and responsive tour operators are crucial. Guides may adjust activities based on conditions, so a flexible attitude is essential. Weather can also impact flights; flexible tickets and travel insurance are necessary to handle any disruptions.
Weather: When to Visit Socotra – and what to expect
Visiting Socotra can be challenging due to its weather patterns. Tours don’t operate during the windy monsoon period in the summer, as strong winds and high temperatures make for an uncomfortable visit.
The winter months, especially December and January, bring unpredictable rainfall that can make roads dangerous. However, traveling during the rainy monsoon offers the chance to see the island's wadis, trees, and landscapes at their greenest and most lush.
Yemeni Visas
A Yemeni visa is required for nearly all nationalities wishing to visit Socotra.
Elite Socotra Tours will get your visa for you easily after you submit a copy of your passport and paying a deposit. The visa fees are included as part of your tour, and are not refundable if you decide to cancel. The visa will be valid for 1 month. So, if you decide to change your dates, you will need to pay $100 for a new visa to suit your new travel dates.
Once issued, the visa is on a piece of paper and is not a sticker placed in your passport. You have to print out two copies of your visa— one will be collected by Yemenia (Yemen Airways) when boarding the flight to Socotra in Cairo, Egypt. You will need to show the other copy when you arrive in Socotra at the immigration counter. Officials will detach and stamp the bottom part of the visa, and if requested they may stamp your passport as well.

Socotra tours originate from Abu Dhabi every week starting November 1st through March 31. Some weeks have a ‘theme’ and some are ‘open’. We have 20 tour weeks available for the season 2022-2023.

Each tour is limited to 12 participants.
All international tours are 10 days and include the night of your arrival from outside of UAE and a day/night upon return. The international arrivals are picked up from the airport from their flight arriving to Dubai or Abu Dhabi and taken to the hotel for the night before for dinner, a short briefing and pickup early the next morning for departure from the local airport.

Using your credit card through our secure gateway, you will pay 50% of the tour fees upon booking and 50% 45 days prior to departure. At that time, you will be sent a separate payment link by email in order to make the payment.When your payment is received you will receive a registration form by email where you will complete your registration details which include a liability waiver, upload of your passport copy, and client information form.You will also be advised at this time of reputable travel insurance companies that will provide insurance for your trip to Yemen as not all companies will include this country in their policies

Book your International Flight to Dubai OR Abu Dhabi – We do the rest!
Book your flight to either Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Send us your flight details and we will make the arrangements for your pickup from the airport and your hotel stay the night before the trip.
Your departing trip should be the day after we return just in case of delays, especially if you are arriving in the months of November – January where rain and storms can cause delays of your flight back from Socotra.
